The mission of TP SWR is to be a complementary player and also a cementing agent among the other already existing or newly emerging Czech subjects involved in the landscape water management, including state organisations as well as non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations. The missing link in this chain was a body capable of ensuring interdisciplinary system approach to decision-making.
The primary role of the Technology Platform is to reflect the onset of the global information society and the impact of the knowledge-based economics on the field of landscape water management and long term sustainability of Water Resources in Czech Republic and to involve innovative approaches and solutions. That is why TP SWR is serching European partners and all opportunities of international cooperation.
The long-term goal of Technology Platform programme is to conduct conceptual and applied analyses that contribute to decreasing the risk and vulnerability of water resources in Czech Republic.
The basic step is to create a Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) affording a dynamic strategy for achieving TP SWR aims and meeting the innovation challenge, The SRA preparation should start through proper identification and assessment of needs and problems in connection with state of the art of knowledge and solutions as well as a review of the barriers for implementation. The second step is to elaborate a detailed Implementation Plan (IP) that describes the research, training, education and dissemination requirements needed to fulfil the vision and strategy.
